Recently, Daye Special Steel, a subsidiary of CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group, successfully rolled an iron-nickel base superalloy with a diameter of 18mm, creating another domestic first. Daye Special Steel has thus become the world's second special steel enterprise that can independently produce this product, breaking the foreign market monopoly.
With the in-depth development of the global economy and the deepening of the low-carbon trend, the automobile emission standards are becoming increasingly strict, and the working environment requirements for the automobile engine valve are also increasing. The production material of the valve should not only meet the performance requirements of high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, but also pursue low cost. Under this background, Fe-Ni based superalloy based on high temperature alloy steel and Ni based alloy came into being.
Fe-ni based superalloy contains Ni, Nb, Al, Ti and other elements, and the total alloy amount is up to nearly 60%. Because of its demanding molding temperature requirements and complex production and processing technology, in the difficult development process of more than two years in the early stage, the R & D team can be described as "repeatedly defeated".
In order to meet customer requirements, the Science and Technology Department of the Group cooperated with Xingcheng Special Steel and Daye Special Steel, which took 3 months to re-conduct basic research and exploration on the basis of the "stuck" in the early stage, carried out basic research on 6 rounds and 72 samples, and formulated a new process test plan.
In the actual test, the R & D team found that in some links, the basic research did not match the actual process, so it took 9 months to conduct 12 rounds of process tests on 125 samples to correct the process. This cycle repeats, making plans, testing many times, optimizing the process... After 5 rounds, 58 samples, 6 months of process exploration and program development, it took a total of 1 and a half years to open the process route and successfully completed the research and development.
The successful rolling of the new Fe-nickel based superalloy is an important breakthrough in the development history of Daye Special Steel's scientific research, and has injected strong vitality into CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group's "building a world-class enterprise".
