On April 12, China Iron and Steel Association learned that Citic Pacific Special Steel Group daye Special Steel Co., Ltd. won the "2020 China Iron and Steel Industry Product Development Market Development Award" for high-end bearing steel for key parts of high-power wind power. The product is used in offshore high-power fans of more than 6 mw, filling the domestic gap.
The development of wind power is getting stronger as China aims to achieve a peak in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. Daye special steel research and development personnel introduced, wind turbines installed in mountains, deserts, offshore, poor working environment, stress and vibration complex, requiring 20 years of failure. For super power fan spindle bearing steel and rolling steel of wind power bearing over 5 mw, its size and specification are large, requiring higher purity, segregation and uniformity of steel. In order to meet the development needs of the industry, Daye Special Steel has developed a number of key core process technologies with independent intellectual property rights, such as "protective casting process", "inert protective gas electroslag remelting technology" and "piecewise controlled rolling and cooling technology" through the linkage of "production, marketing, learning, research and application". The physical quality and performance indexes of high-end bearing steel for key components of high-power wind power developed have reached the international advanced level, and won national, provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. Moreover, it has participated in the formulation of more than ten national and industrial bearing steel standards.
In recent years, relying on advanced technology and product quality, Daye Special Steel wind power bearing steel has been recognized by well-known bearing enterprises and industries. The domestic market share of high-end bearing steel for high-power fan spindle bearings and wind power bearing rollers has reached more than 85%. In terms of international market development, the high-end wind turbine bearing steel products developed by Daye Special Steel have been exported to well-known bearing enterprises in Europe, India and other countries, filling the gap of high-grade steel export in this field.
The Product Development and Market Development Award is established by China Iron and Steel Association and is awarded every two years. The award-winning products have high technology content, high added value, and play a guiding role in the development of the industry. Since 2008, only 50 products of Chinese steel enterprises have won this award.
